Jazz
Pat Metheny - Absolutely anything. First timers might want to consider new releases like Speaking of Now, Map of the World, or Trio 99-00. Also particularly melodic are Secret Story and the Grammy-winning Like Minds, his duet album with Jimmy Hall, or Beyond the Missouri Sky with Charlie Haden. For the Pat Metheny Group, the live album, Road to You, or the studio records, Speaking of Now, Still Life (talking), or Letter from Home. The better albums for me (because they are melodically experimental and stylistically difficult to categorize) include Imaginary Day, First Circle, Quartet, or anything he has done with saxophonist Kenny Garrett. Pat has won upwards of fifteen Grammies, for good reason!
Cassandra Wilson - Blue Light 'til Dawn
Tuck and Patti - Anything
